Living in White Bear Lake
Despite a population of about 25,000 residents, many who already call White Bear Lake home will be the first to tell you the community has a distinct small-town feel that has a unique character that you just don’t ordinarily see from established communities with that many people. Convenience is also a big factor in why so many people are choosing the White Bear Lake area for their next place to call home, as the Minneapolis - St. Paul International Airport is only about 20 miles from town, while the Twin Cities themselves are also only a short drive from just about any point in all of White Bear Lake.
The entire White Bear Lake community encompasses about 8.66 square miles, and its five major routes through or around town include U.S. Highway 61, Ramsey Court Highway 96, Minnesota State Highway 96, Interstate 35E, and Interstate 694. Needless to say, getting to and from just about any part of the Twin Cities metropolitan area is usually pretty easy given locals have such great access to so many different highways. White Bear Lake also has its own school system as well, which includes nine elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools.

For some home buyers browsing the White Bear Lake real estate market, there’s no better way to experience small town living than to be situated right in the middle town. Others prefer to enjoy a little more space and privacy, which usually correlates to detached single-family homes a bit further out in the county.
